I dream of OPM becoming my standard modeling tool.
Since first seeing Object Process Methodology I have dreamed of putting it to broad use in civil society. The critical role of civil society needs the support of our best modeling tool. It is that simple.
Also I see the ability to make transforms across OPM graphs, Neo4j (directed property graphs), causal loop diagrams, stock and flow diagrams and ultimately system dynamics models. These are each a view of the same systems--ramping up the analytical power of the tool but not departing from the system and its dynamics along the way. Like focusing in with a microscope. Same subject, greater or less detail depending on the need.
OPM has a level of precision and parsimony missing in other graphing methods.
The near completeness of relationship types teaches about relationship through repetitive reinforcing use. It clarifies the difference between causal relationship and categorical or type relationships.
